Philosophy
- The Second Chance Program believes that children do not choose prostitution.
- Prostitution is not a “lifestyle” for children/adolescents.
- Involvement in prostitution for those under the age of 18 years old is child abuse.
- Those who seek out and pick up under aged victims for the purposes of a paid sexual encounter are not johns or customers, but are sexual predators.
- Adult women may or may not choose prostitution. Often, however, prostitution is chosen for women through poverty, abuse, and drug addiction.
- High Risk Behaviors are viewed as Personal Solutions to complex and overwhelming problems that did not receive the proper support, assessment, and intervention.
